pre-summer favorites!

I know I've been a terrible blogger lately, but maybe these hot pink dahlias will tide you over until next time. Which will be soon, I promise!
Or perhaps this lovely potted succulent?
Or maybe this awesomely orange calendula? These are just a few things we've been obsessed with using in arrangements in the shop lately. Such gorgeous summer flowers.

flower of the moment: giant fiddle heads!

Aren't these giant fiddle head ferns insane? One might say they even look prehistoric. Very fun and crazy!

orchid love

Lately at the shop we've been overcome with love for orchids. Maybe it's our new plant section with grow lights and everything you actually need to successfully take care of plants... Yeah, that could be it! But seriously, they are just so pretty. There's nothing quite like a beautiful orchid. The Lady Slipper in the top left is my favorite, what are yours?

it's gloomy today

Here's a little something to cheer it up. Aren't those anemones gorgeous? Such a great shade of indigo.

happy spring!!

Early Spring always makes me want things to be clean and crisp. I think yellow and green is a nice way to achieve that look, as opposed to the white/green combo, which of course is always nice too... yellow and green is just a nice way to shake it up a bit!

early spring window

As promised, here is a little collage of our newest window display. We got the coolest birch to cover the walls with. It has been really fun. I think it will be really great to keep up through the summer, and who knows? Maybe even the fall as well! The cabinet pictured was actually handmade by one of our gardening employees out of our old floor boards, which we took up to install some antique tile. It's such a great piece! I'm pretty sure we all want it for our selves... A great addition to the shop!

planter jealousy

I was just perusing Apartment Therapy, which I don't do nearly enough and already found something I want. This vertical planter is amazing and such a great idea. Now if only I lived in sunny San Fran...

orange with a hint of yellow

I'm in LOVE with this bouquet from Little Pheasant. The colors are absolutely gorgeous.

new shop photos.

We actually just finished painting the walls in the shop, so I will be posting some photos of our new look soon. As well as some photos of new merchandise. We got some a couple gorgeous new chandeliers! Can't wait to show them to you!

a verrry late valentines!

Sorry for the late Valentines update. Here are some of my very favorite shots from working that day. If only every day were Valentines Day...

flower of the moment: ranunculus!

I feel like such a lazy jerk not posting. But I am now, right? So it's okay. Anyhoo, our Valentine's Day at the shop was amazing. We made so many gorgeous arrangements for our regular customers, as well as some new customers. So all in all, it was a great, fun weekend. I will post some photos of our favorite arrangements soon. In the meantime, check out this gorgeous ranunculus.

too cute for words

more valentines experimentation...

I've been trying to make different arrangements lately while I'm in the shop. It is far too easy to get stuck making the same thing over and over. So, here we have my latest creation. We have a lot of pink and red flowers right now in preparation for oh you know, no particular reason, so naturally I was drawn to them. Especially this super pale pink ranunculus. Aren't they the prettiest?

cute new things!

We just got a bunch of cute pots and things in the shop. I absolutely LOVE these little orangey terracotta pots. So adorable. And who doesn't need a good gnome?

alternative valentines bouquets

Valentines Day is quickly approaching and so naturally, being florists, we are all experimenting with different arrangements we can make for customers on the big day. Nothing against the classic red rose bouquet, because those really are quite lovely. It's just fun to do something a little differently, right? That said, here are a few arrangements we've done this week in preparation. Perhaps we'll get a chance to make some more on Valentines Day!

a spring wedding bouquet

If today was your wedding day, wouldn't you want this as your bouquet? I certainly wouldn't mind.

pink and purple

Pretty and super girly. What a great combo!

spring fever: part 2

Seriously, and its only January! Soon, all we'll be seeing are tulips, tulips, tulips!

cute gift tags...

..from our shop. The wedding themed tags are a whopping $0.95! I've already bought three...

sunshine

I guess even though it's gross outside lately, we can make some beautiful sunshine-y arrangements.

january window!

Here are some bits and pieces of our January window display. We will probably be changing it soon to get ready for Valentine's Day, which I imagine will be very different and much more pink! Stay tuned!

mostly monochromatic

Beautiful arrangement made by Leah in the shop last week.

current addiction: white and green

The white/green combo is becoming an addiction! It always looks nice though! You can focus more on the texture of the flowers that way.

bouquet of the week: pretty pastels

Paul made this bouquet of the week. The antique pitcher on it's own is gorgeous, but the subtle pastels in the flowers make it really sweet.
